  • 09.01.2011: Sokolik/Tatarskii Cluster Expansion
    The group has expanded their current cluster by 96 cores, for a total of 356 cores.  This includes a 256Gb RAM, 48 core node.  Other upgrades included a new RAID controller and internal storage.
  • 08.26.2011: EAS Outfits New Labs
    EAS has deployed 46 new computers and 22" monitors to three labs, two offices in the new Clough Commons.  These systems use a dual boot method for redundancy - disk and network boot.
  • 08.01.2011: EAS Upgrades Computing Lab
    EAS has upgraded all computers in ES&T L1110 to quad core machines.  All machines also received new 22" monitors to facilitate visualization.
  • 08.01.2011: EAS Upgrades VMware
    EAS has upgraded VMware View to 4.6 and deployed additional machines to incoming graduate students.
  • 07.25.2011: Curry/Webster Group NAS expansion
    The group has expanded its current NAS server by an additional 48 Terabytes, and added Infiniband connectivity for data transfer.
  • 06.01.2011: EAS Deploys CrashPlan Pro
    In an effort to provide backup for desktop/notebook computers, EAS has deployed CrashPlan Pro in conjunction with OIT's upcoming campus offering.
  • 03.29.2011: Di Lorenzo Group expands storage
    Storage was expanded on the group NAS server by an additional RAID controller and 48 Terabytes of space.  The system was also upgraded to Infiniband capability for data transfer.
  • 08.10.2010: ISG welcomes new member
    EAS/ISG welcomes Mack Jenkins to the staff.  Mack will be providing Linux and VMware support for EAS..
  • 08.06.2010: EAS VLAB upgraded to vSphere
    The EAS Virtual Lab system has been upgraded to vSphere 4.  The new version offers improved performance and reliability.  This upgrade also facilitates deployment of Windows 7 desktops.
  • 05.20.2010: Yuhang Wang NAS Depolyment
    The Yuhang Wang Group has deployed a new 48Tbyte NAS unit for the storage of group data.  This is in addition to the existing 50Tbyte systems in place.
  • 05.19.2010: Webster/Curry Data Migration
    10Tbytes of storage was migrated from an aging SCSI NAS unit to a newly expanded NAS unit, allowing for retirement of the old system.
