Will the EAS Computing staff work with my home computer?

Yes and no.  EAS Computing staff will assist you in configuring your notebook computer to access the wireless network here at GT.  We will also give advice on personal computing matters such as firewalling, patching, and anti-virus.  We will also advise you on how to remote access your machine here at GT.  We will not install software or hardware on personal machines.

 

Does Georgia Tech provide anti-virus software for home use?

Yes.  You are able to download software from https://software.oit.gatech.edu and install it on your personal machine.

NOTE: You will have to supply your gtID and password in order to complete the software download.

For Windows Systems, use VirusScan Enterprise.

For Macintosh Systems, use McAfee VirusScan.

For Linux Systems, use VirusScan.
